Baseload Power is the Foundation of Modern Society.

Modern society is dependent on a constant, uninterrupted flow of electricity - regardless of weather, time of day, or season. This is baseload: the steady, reliable foundation beneath every grid in the world.

Electrification is accelerating across transport, industry, and heating, placing unprecedented demands on grids that were never designed for today's load. The rise of artificial intelligence is rewriting electricity demand: data centers training and running large models require enormous, continuous power that doesn't pause. AI workloads alone could add hundreds of terawatt-hours of demand within the decade.

Meeting this moment requires energy that is clean, firm, scalable, and secure — a new generation of baseload built for the world we're working toward.

Leading with Lead

SEALER-55 is Blykalla's commercial SMR units, which will have an output of 55MW each. These will be used for both industrial processes and electricity production. Due to their modular structure they can be produced in factories and shipped to their final locations. The compact design avoids ultra heavy forging, which significantly shortens production time and cost.

We expect to start serial production of SEALER-55s in the early 2030's.

Accelerating the Industry

Blykalla is at the forefront of the global nuclear energy future, bringing together key stakeholders, including policymakers, industry leaders, and technical experts, to drive discussions on the role of advanced nuclear power in a resilient energy system. As the host of industry-wide events, we create platforms for collaboration and progress in nuclear innovation.

In February 2025, we hosted a groundbreaking event to mark the beginning of our testing facility at the at the OKG nuclear power plant in Oskarshamn, Sweden, together with Sweden’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Business, Energy, and Industry Ebba Busch.

I’m incredibly happy to be here and have these interesting discussions about the role of nuclear power in tackling the climate transition. I’m particularly grateful to Blykalla for choosing to be a frontrunner in developing tomorrow’s nuclear power technology. That’s truly a climate hero in my eyes.
