Jakob Oskarsson will be joining Blykalla as a Project Manager, taking on responsibility for the Materials Industrialization project. In this role, he will work with the team to address the challenges of the nuclear industry by exploring new materials and their characteristics, integrating these materials into reactor designs, and building collaborations with suppliers to ensure project success.
Jakob holds a Master of Science in Materials Science from Uppsala University, with a focus on material characterization and analysis, particularly for metals. His master’s thesis involved developing a lab-scale test for WC drill bits in various types of rock, conducted in the Tribology Lab at Ångström Laboratory, Uppsala University.
He has held several roles throughout his career, including engineer, project manager, and Global Technical Support Manager at Erasteel, a leading producer of high-speed steels using powder metallurgy processes. During this time, he contributed to the development of new steel grades, production processes, and applications. As a Technical Market Support Manager, he gained experience by observing the performance of Erasteel’s products at factories and production sites worldwide.
Over the past four years, Jakob has worked at Galderma, initially as an engineer managing a scale-up production project with a focus on machinery. He then transitioned to the Project Office as a Project Manager, overseeing upstream bulk projects for a new process plant. Most recently, he served as a Technical Standards Lead, developing a standardization program to ensure future projects met regulatory, authority, and internal requirements.
