We are happy to introduce Johan Salwén as the newest addition to the Blykalla team. With an impressive background in material science and a passion for advancing nuclear technology, Johan’s expertise is a perfect fit for our journey in developing the next generation of SMRs.
Johan holds a Master’s degree in Material Science and Engineering from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, as well as an International Welding Engineer diploma. Johan’s professional experience comes primarily from Alleima (formerly Sandvik Materials Technology), where he took on different responsibilities in both R&D and marketing. In his role at the R&D Tube and Welding department, Johan was instrumental in developing and qualifying different tube alloys for production, as well as carrying out welding qualifications. His last position at Alleima involved providing technical support to the sales team and customers across the Middle East region.
Johan’s decision to join Blykalla stems from his enthusiasm for working on groundbreaking projects in the nuclear energy sector. He believes that SMRs will play a crucial role in the future of energy production, and he’s particularly impressed by Blykalla’s efforts in developing alloys that can withstand the challenging environments that lead can present. Blykalla’s innovative spirit and dedication to pushing the boundaries of material science resonate deeply with Johan’s own professional values.
At Blykalla, Johan takes on the role of Material Engineer, where he will be responsible for material and welding selections. He will work closely with our design engineers, lending his vast knowledge and experience in material science and standards to support the development of our technologies. We are confident that Johan’s expertise and enthusiasm will be a tremendous asset to our team, and we look forward to achieving great things together.
